Cleaning bongs

Cleaning bongs

  • Get your glassware bongs, dab rigs, a high-strength isopropyl-based cleaner like Randy's Black Label Cleaner, rubber stoppers or cleaning caps, and warm water.

  • Prep and drain: Empty all dirty water from the bong and remove all detachable parts, such as the downstem and bowl or banger.

  • Apply Randy's Black Label Cleaner: Pour the cleaner directly into the main chamber of the bong. Ensure there is enough liquid and abrasive grit inside to reach all resin-coated surfaces.

  • Soak small parts: Place smaller components like downstems and bowl pieces into a small glass container or ziplock bag and submerge them in the cleaner.

  • Seal and shake: Plug all openings of your bongs or dab rigs using cleaning plugs or your hands, then shake vigorously for 1–2 minutes to allow the abrasive solution to strip away built-up resin.

  • Handle large pieces carefully: For big bongs, hold the piece securely with both hands over a safe area while shaking to prevent slipping or accidental drops.

  • Rinse thoroughly: Pour out the dirty solution into a sink, then rinse the inside and outside of the piece thoroughly with warm water until all residue and cleaner odor are completely gone.

  • Verify cleanliness: Inspect the glass against a light source to ensure no resin spots remain and that the water drains completely clear.

  • Like a new bong every time
